As a software developer with extensive experience in batch jobs, WebSphere, WebSphere Application Server, Oracle SQL Developer, Oracle Database, agile methods, JSP, Log4j, REST APIs, and Java, my present role includes the following duties.
- Collaborating with business analysts to understand business requirements and to help define strategy, content, and features for the software application.
- Developing and maintaining software requirements specifications, design standards, project timelines, and risk management plans.
- Using critical thinking to support product development and engineering teams in building code that enables new application features.
- Writing efficient, optimized, and scalable application code using sound programming principles, tools, and techniques.
- Running thorough testing, debugging, fixes, and maintenance so application code meets quality and performance standards.
- Applying WebSphere, WebSphere Application Server, and Oracle Database experience to manage large data sets for analysis and data management.
- Following agile methods to plan and coordinate application development phases.
- Protecting the application with security measures that reduce data breach risk and support risk management.
- Shipping new features with JSP, REST APIs, and Log4j where they fit the architecture.
- Coordinating project activities, dependent deliverables, tasks, issues, and risk closure so the project stays on track.
